Implementation of STEM Education through Didactic Activities with Simulations

Abstract

The study highlights the role of simulators in education as didactic tools in the learning process, integrated with the principles of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) educational approach. The objective was to develop digital simulators for use within didactic sequences, allowing students to visualize real-life situations, applying their theoretical knowledge by observing and testing their conjectures, with a focus on Trigonometry. The simulators, developed using GeoGebra, were organized into three independent activities with different levels of complexity, focusing on understanding space and the actions a robotic arm must perform. Since this is not applied research, the results are the simulators themselves as learning objects available for free use. The study shows that it is possible to offer a practical and immersive alternative to STEM education, helping students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations using simulators.
